Open Letter from Coach

This is my first ever attempt at writing a “blog”, so to speak, but there’s something very important I wanted to address. I will be typing my rambling thoughts as they come to me so please excuse any grammatical errors…

The inspiration for this open letter is YOU- the Chaos community. This has been a tremendous month for me as I’ve done a lot of growing (not literally unfortunately) and spent some serious time looking at what I’ve done, what I need to do and establish what my blueprint looks like.

This, of course, wouldn’t have been possible without the endless inspiration, support and guidance I receive from the members of Chaos on a daily basis. Most of you probably don’t even realize the times you’ve helped or influenced me, but every single one of you has.

When I think of a “coach” and what that encompasses, I always look back on the coaches I’ve had in the past and what my perception of them was. To me, a coach is a role model, someone who has “been there and done that” and someone who has it all figured out. The reality is this:

  1. I don’t have it all figured out
  2. I’ve done a few things, but certainly not enough
  3. I’m not the role model. All of you are.

This morning hit me like a ton of bricks. I was able to sit back and become immersed in the environment around me. I saw families working out together, people laughing and hugging, goals being attacked, pictures being taken and an entire community of people TOGETHER. As I continued to look around, I saw countless reminders of the help I’ve received over the years. I saw the walls you helped me paint, the lights you helped me hang, the obstacle course you helped me design, the room you helped me build and the million of other intricacies you’ve all been a part of. When I came home, I started to write out all the ways I’ve been helped since Chaos’ inception. After five pages, I realized it was impossible.

I simply cannot thank you enough or express the true sense of appreciation I feel. Chaos is the place it is today because of YOU. I am very proud to be a part of this community and today I consider myself the luckiest person alive.
